Out of Towners

With all of our family living so close, along with the fact that we get together so often, I have pretty much written off taking time to post on "this blog page" I set up a few years ago. I would love to blame it all on having a baby but the truth is I have been thinking about other things than sitting down to post a picture or story. A few things have change in the last month and we now have -out of towners- and I have strongly been encouraged to post more often for the sake of family. After some thought and motivation(her beating me to posting first)..I am going to begin....again!
I have not posted since having the cutest little boy named Titan Spencer Heywood. (Since this post is all about the -out of towners- I will go ahead and call him Big T.) His birthday is 11/11/2009 and yes that makes him just over one and did I mention BIG? He has been off of the charts since day one and there is no getting back on the charts in sight. He smiles a ton, sleeps a ton and _____ a ton! I'm quite convinced our diaper bill is double than most. He is one fantastic boy, we couldnt ask for anyone better. P.s. he weighed 8lbs. 15oz. Pictures will have to tell the rest. One last thing about him for now...he looks JUST like his Dad and LOVES his Dad.... I'm convinced more than me. However, when he is sick or hungry that is still in debate.

Where to begin?

I feel like I need to start all over again because I have not posted in so long.....9 months.....is that too long? Some have hinted that I need to post more, so here it goes.

A little bit of R & R....

The summer was hot and being pregnant didnt help with that whole body tempurature thing. In August we decided to join my parents and my sister Ann's family at Lake Powell for a couple days. Cooling off and relaxing was just what we needed!

I had my mom buy me this raft before we went because I had every intention of floating the entire time we were there.

Thanks Dad & Mom for such a great trip!!!

California in a week....

Spencer just got done with a semester of school and has decided to do summer school. When summer school is over another semester begins. Then the baby comes in November....so....we decided to take a trip together. Just the two of us! We realized that all family vacations were pretty much out of the picture so we wanted to get away. Also get away one last time before the baby comes and enjoy our together time. We decided on California and the pictures will tell all.

The lake we decided to walk to...everybody else had bikes....wish we would have know.
Spencer's new tent.....HE LOVES IT!!!!

Last few minutes at yosemite...the mist from all the waterfalls really is sooo strong. It felt so good after hiking around all day.
Sonoma- wine country....BEAUTIFUL!

San Francisco
Alcatraz was a huge highlight to the trip. We both really enjoyed learning about it.
Out to lunch on the pier with the my grandparents that came into the city with us.
Ice cream shop....YUM!
Our cousins told us about this homeless bush guy and we found him....Had to take a picture! He was scaring people right and left it was hilarious!!!!

November is getting closer and closer.....

and that will be an exciting month and a VERY life changing month. Baby # 1 for Spencer and I is cooking in the oven as you read this. We told both families by dying eggs with a letter or number on each one and had the parents figure out the puzzle. It will be grandchild #22 for the Dever side and # 15 for the Heywoods. We are both thrilled and can't wait to see what this child will look like. Most would guess tall and blonde....only time will tell.

Tomorrow is the first doctor's apt. and being new at this it will be interesting to see how all of these apt's go. Until then all I have to say is "More pineapple please!!!!" It helps to soothe my stomache and that being the case I eat it all day long. Running out of pineapple now is like running out of...........well you get my point.

This blog just may be updated more often now but please don't count on it....until then go get yourself some cold pineapple....it's getting really hot out there.

Girls just wanna have fun......

So we took a girls trip up to north Scottsdale. My sister kindly shares part of her vacation ,time share ,club with us so that we can take a mom and sisters trip every February. This is the third year that we have gone up to Scottsdale and who knows, we just might get adventurous one of these years and leave the state to relax. We'll see.... We played games non-stop....everything from nerts to settlers to lucky unders and I will proudly say that I won settlers along with many games of nerts. Sorry to rub it in girls but when Spence is'nt around to win, I better enjoy it while it last's!
It was my sister-in-law Jill's birthday while we were there. We tried to make it a special one with her breakfast request and game choice of the day. Her husband(my brother) along with my Dad and other brother James came up for the night to share a birthday dessert and some karaoke. Below is a picture of a jealous brother with his sista's. He wishes he could come on the trip every year but some how he is never invited. It's starting to sound like Dad might need to be planning a guys trip.

Although some of these pictures look like we didnt shower all weekend. We really did! This next photo is really a terrific one. It might be held against me for a very long time but I love ya Ann....here is what we all looked like until about 3 every day. Gotta love the game playin.

My lovely mother getting dinner ready and those of you who know us won't be too surprised to see that she is gettting the salad ready. Love ya mom!

I never knew that my parents were such good karaoke singers.....So cute!

We ended the trip by going to the temple together and then catching a bite to eat at tia rosas before my sister Ann's plane left.

Girls just wanna have fun....and that's just what we did...Great trip!!!
